1. Acceptance

By accessing or using the TimeLayer website (timelayer-os.com) or any TimeLayer service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

2. Nature of the service

TimeLayer is a cryptographic notarial network. The service provides receipts that record the fingerprint of an action or document, signed by a quorum of independent operators. The network is live. No paid plans are available yet; the service is currently provided free of charge.

3. Permitted use

You may use TimeLayer services solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the service to notarize illegal, fraudulent, or harmful content.
• Attempt to compromise the integrity of the network, reverse-engineer the protocol, or interfere with other users.
• Misrepresent receipts as legally binding notarial acts in jurisdictions where such representation would be unlawful.
• Resell or sublicense access to the service without written permission.

4. Data and privacy

TimeLayer does not store the content of your actions or documents — only cryptographic fingerprints (hashes). Your data handling is governed by our Privacy Policy.

5. Intellectual property

All software, design, trademarks, and content of the TimeLayer platform are the property of TimeLayer. The public verifier is released as open-source software under its respective licence. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights in our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the service as described here.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. DURING THE PRE-LAUNCH TEST PHASE, UPTIME AND RECEIPT VALIDITY ARE NOT GUARANTEED.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, TimeLayer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and applicable international regulations. Disputes shall be resolved by negotiation in good faith; if unresolved, the competent courts of the EU member state of service operation shall have jurisdiction.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available at timelayer-os.com/terms/. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
